Do you consider yourself a prideful person or know someone that is? Many times, we overlook pride and dont see it for what it truly is, relying on our own strength and seeking our own way. When we do this, we reject the will of God for our lives. In this book, author Mark Michael, shares the story of a time in his life that he had to deal with humility. He was forced to walk everywhere he needed to go after his car broke down and he didn't have the money to fix it. He then realized he was a very prideful person and had been living his life to please only himself and not the Lord.

Mark teaches readers that as Christians we have a false perception that God wants to make us look good. This is a fallacy. The truth is that our virtues, gifts, and talents have been given to us by God to glorify Him. Not us. Once we understand this, we can truly live in such a way to bring glory to God, which in turn brings us freedom and joy.
